Moody Rocky Mountain Wedding at The Landing at Estes Park

Emily & Brandon

The Landing at Estes Park

Estes Park, Colorado

July 31st, 2021

Rainy afternoons in the mountains are undoubtedly one of the dreamiest times to get married in Colorado. There’s nothing more picturesque than the dramatic, moody green tones popping against the misty mountaintops in the distance, while you curl up with a warm coffee by the fire as you get ready for your wedding day. And that’s exactly what Emily did, with her wedding venue The Landing at Estes Park providing the perfect location to do so.

Emily’s outstanding summery bouquet was created by Snowberry Floral Co.

It’s one of Emily + Brandon’s traditions to get a photo at every national park sign they go to, so having their first look right by this one was a must.

Mother Nature decided to start pouring rain right as the wedding party began snapping some portraits but they say that’s supposed to be good luck or something 🙂

The light rain coming down over the mountains with the river flowing gracefully by + the floral installations bringing bright summery colors was the most incredible Colorado backdrop for Emily + Brandon to tie the knot.

With Brandon’s family being from Germany, they had to incorporate one of their favorite German wedding traditions where the bride & groom cut a log together, symbolizing the first challenge they overcome together as a married couple + kicking off the reception. It made it even more special that they displayed a photo of Brandon’s parent’s on their wedding day participating in the German log cutting ceremony in the past while Brandon’s dad cheered them on in their own ceremony in the present.

The newlyweds “cut the cheese” together to kick off a night of dancing in the mountains.
