Jillian + Evan’s story begins while they were both going to college at Montana State University. The stars aligned the night they met + they ended up on a very romantic + very long stroll around Bozeman until 4 in the morning.

Evan was so intrigued by Jillian that he told her he didn’t know laundry + that she just had to come over the next day to teach him. He gave a pretty good acting performance + she never caught on until later that he did, in fact, know how to do laundry.

The two ended up having so much fun doing laundry together that they never wanted the day to end. They were both envisioning what a lifetime of this kind of fun could look like, and that turned into endless adventures, bringing them here to their wedding day at Lyons Farmette.

While in college, Jillian + Evan planned their first big adventure together–a spring break trip to all five National Parks in Utah. They fell in love with Moab + planned to return someday to explore more.

Jillian wore two special bracelets–one owned by Jillian’s grandmother with Scottish heather inside worn by every Sundman bride; the other was given to her by her late father for her 12th birthday.

In November of 2020, they found themselves back in Moab. They were enjoying a starlight night cozied up at their campfire when Evan turned to Jillian, got down on one knee + proposed, holding a ring engraved with the words, “Our Adventure Begins.”

Lyons Farmette is the homiest-feeling venue + offers so many different stunning landscapes + charming details, making the options endless. Flowers were very important to Jillian, and the farm provided an abundance of flower fields. Paired with the dreamy rain, everything felt like a cottagecore fairy tale come to life.

Maddie is Jillian + Evan’s sweet pup who starred as one of the flower girls. Maddie inspired their love of all things outdoors, nature, and camping.

Every detail of the wedding was so intentionally planned. Most of the vendors were family friends of Jillian + Evan’s, adding personal touches to everything: Ellen of Ellen’s Flowers grew most of the flowers from seed specifically for this wedding; Amanda + Mike of Bristol Brewing provided the beer enjoyed at the wedding; Jillian’s cousin Evan is an artist who created a guestbook painting that guests could paint on; and Jillian’s aunt Cynthia is a beekeeper who brought the honeycomb from her bees for the charcuterie board.

The officiant of the wedding was the best man at Jillian’s parents’ wedding, and used the same silver chalice he toasted them with at their wedding as a special remembrance of Jillian’s father during the ceremony.

Not only did it rain on Jillian + Evan’s wedding day, the Avs also won the Stanley Cup during the reception–a day with plenty to celebrate + plenty of luck.
