The stars aligned one Memorial day afternoon, when Donna + Forrest found themselves meeting one another at a barbecue, ending up in conversation with one another, and never wanting to turn back.
Donna admired Forrest’s passion for wildland firefighting, and Forrest admired Donna’s dedication toward earning a doctoral degree in physical therapy. They totally believe they fell in love at first sight. That night, they both ended up asking a mutual friend for each other’s numbers, and all their friends knew they were onto something.
Soon enough they found themselves on their first official date, Forrest picking up Donna in his 1980 Jeep to attend a car show together.
After dating each other for a few years + moving into their own place, Forrest knew this was a forever kinda thing, and asked Donna to marry him.
They got married surrounded by the most serene setting between the towering trees tucked back into the plains of Illinois. It was forecasted to rain all afternoon that day, but instead, they got glimmers of sunshine during their wedding ceremony, making for the most magically whimsical day.
Just as they said “I do” + walked back down the aisle as husband + wife, some gloriously happy raindrops fell through the sunshine.
They ended the night smoking cigars + taking over the dance floor surrounded by their best friends.
