Boho Spring Mountain Wedding at Mount Princeton Hot Springs

storytelling for the free spirited

Seth + Morgan’s wedding was a creation of its own, unlike anything else. The celebration of marriage was the focus, while creating a space for guests to enjoy life as simple, whimsical moments came alive in the mountains at the Mount Princeton Hot Springs.

Buena Vista, CO

|| It was a perfect day of sun kissed faces, sweet mountain air, + a glorious mountain range to set Morgan + Seth’s dream wedding ||

This April morning in the Colorado Rockies was a fresh breath of mountain air, still new + crisp with expectation.

Seth had just moved to Colorado with a good friend, and a destined night led them to the bars for some drinks. Mid-conversation, Seth’s friend brought up a girl he thought Seth would like, and coincidentally she was right across the room. He introduced Seth to Morgan, and their connection was instantaneous. Seth got her number + the excitement of possibility hit – she couldn’t wait to see what he would say next! He called a few days later + soon enough they found themselves on their first date, rock climbing through Boulder.

Seth + Morgan found they connected on an emotional level they had never known with anyone else before. There was kindred space to share unending laughter, tears, shared experiences, and dream. Morgan is the artist. As a dance teacher + choreographer, she’s always bringing meaning + form to empty spaces with her elegant, gentle radiance. Seth is the adventurous one; he’s always inspired to get himself + Morgan out into the unpredictable wild. A whole room transforms in Seth’s presence.

The years passed + love came easy, until it didn’t. Life’s unforeseen challenges caused hardships in their relationship. After breaking up for a few months, Seth decided he really did want to spend the rest of his life with Morgan. He battled alongside her through a cancer scare, and her trust in  him skyrocketed.

He planned to propose on the day they met, four years later, at the place he first told Morgan he loved her. In the middle of a field in Vail, he got down on one knee, asking her to marry him.

Seth + Morgan’s relationship is full of sacred spaces. Every year, they spend time at Mount Princeton for their anniversary, so it only made sense that everything would fall into place for them to be married there, at the Mount Princeton Hot Springs.

“We love our home; cooking, drinking coffee in the morning, being at rest – all of the small things. Those are the times we enjoy most together, and we want that to be reflected in our wedding; we just want everyone to be in the moment,” beams Morgan.

The simple, handmade elements were the center of attention. Seth is a woodworker, and crafted the most important elements of his + Morgan’s wedding decor. Everything he made came from stumps he found in the woods.

His most enthralling creation was their one of a kind centerpieces. There was no formal order of events on their wedding day, or even portraits to take. Everything flowed as freely as Morgan + Seth do – no tension was put on when anything needed to happen.

Loved ones were just welcomed into an organic party, letting everything go, breathing in the mountains, and soaking in the hot springs.

This represented to me the beauty at the heart of weddings, so easy to forget. Just come away with your beloved and relish in who you are together.

Buena Vista is a perfect town for a free-spirited photographer and couple. They have the best white water rafting in all of Colorado! This looked like it was an authentic and awesome wedding.
