A Red-Rocked Morrison Wedding At Willow Ridge Manor

storytelling for the free spirited

Alyssa & Steven’s Wedding

October 13th, 2018

Willow Ridge Manor, Morrison, Colorado

A vintage estate resting on the red hills of Morrison welcomed everyone valiantly on the wedding day. It felt as if we had taken a step back a century, which was fitting for one important detail. Alyssa’s wedding dress hung in the bridal suite, and as soon as we saw it, we knew it was from another time.

Today was a day Alyssa’s mom would not be there for. Although she had passed away, she felt close, because Alyssa put on her wedding dress to marry Steven. She carried a token on her bouquet–a locket with a picture of her mother wearing the dress, to remember.

Alyssa’s sister helped her into the dress, and it fit just like it was meant for her to wear it.

And then she got to see her dad. What a sight that was for him, I’m sure. Surrounded by all her best friends, everyone was full of emotion as Alyssa came out in her dress.

Guests began settling into the ceremony site, nestled right into the foothills with a view of the city.

As Alyssa’s dad escorted her down the aisle, Steven saw his bride for the first time. She had been a familiar face to him since she was a little girl, but he never could’ve expected she would be his bride one day.

They met in elementary school, when Steven was the class clown, and they were both tiny. Fifteen years later, they met again. Steven was a lot nicer + more handsome than Alyssa remembered him being.

As their story unfolded, she realized they had grown into two people who were meant for each other.

We made it out to play in Morrison’s famous red rocks as the warm sun set behind the mountains.

And as they celebrated after the ceremony, it was evident they are two people everyone adores, bringing their light in the most authentic, gentle-hearted way into this world.

No one will ever forget how Alyssa + Steven’s wedding ceremony beat an outrageous October snow storm by just hours. As all the guests gathered in the reception hall, the temperatures plummeted + snowflakes began to fall, making for an cozy evening.
