ALL SHE EVER WANTED WAS UNPREDICTABLE KISSES + UNFORGETTABLE LAUGHTER.
He saw the Facebook post + knew it was now or never; the chance of a lifetime. That girl he couldn't stop thinking about was moving to Missouri for college, and prom was his last shot to delight this beauty.
After a year of meeting in the same intimate discipleship group, Xavier couldn't ignore his feelings for Lauren. Even though she was moving away, it was worth it to catch a little more of that sparkle in her eye. Once prom happened, he never wanted to look away.
Like all things undeniable, one thing led to the next. Prom invited a date, which strung out into a summer of falling in love. Yet, looming up ahead was August and life transition and ... hundreds of miles. College came + the two had to jump into long distance dating, something they were both unsure of. But the years passed + the miles strengthened a love so quietly shatterproof.
After three years, with much anticipation, Xavier proposed to Lauren. They married the next summer at the enchanting Sunrise Amphitheater atop the flatirons of Boulder, Colorado, and invited me to capture their woodsy wedding full of whimsy!
In giddy nervousness, Xavier awaited Lauren at their first look in Chautauqua Park; the moment all tension fades away as almost-husband + wife melt into each other + exhale.
The moment between these two precious souls was filled with giggles + twirls, then they began praying together to bring peace to their nerves.
The flower girls ran out to celebrate with the two, followed by their close-knit bridal party of friends who have walked deeply with Xavier + Lauren, from Colorado to Missouri.
Guests gathered under a dramatically lit sky on the mountaintop for the ceremony.
Just as the ceremony ended, rain swept into the party + we snuck away for some newlywed shots.
"I can trust him with everything; the safety I found with him over long distance was huge. He's extremely gifted with mechanics; what looks to me like warped metal, Xavier can fix into something. He knows exactly how any scrap can fit together + what tools to use. He makes it all come together, and he knows that's a quality God has designed him to contribute in community. I see so much leadership in him."
"Lauren is so compassionate; she loves other people more than herself, and she gives more than she has constantly. She's a server. Even though she struggles sometimes, she's always steadfast in her faith in God, as well as in our relationship. Anytime I've ever needed anything, she's always right there. It's perfect that she's a nurse because she loves to take care of people and be part of their healing."
It was a day guests felt the honor of witnessing, for the simple + pure love the McIntyres share. Taking chances really does work out sometimes, immeasurably more than what we imagined for our lives.
